Our Story

Heathdale.site was born from a simple observation: while there are countless entertainment options for younger demographics, mature adults seeking intellectually stimulating, culturally rich experiences often find themselves underserved.

Founded in 2020 by a group of educators, cultural enthusiasts, and community organizers, we set out to create events that honour the wisdom, experience, and curiosity of adults in their prime years. We recognized that the 40-60 age group represents some of society's most thoughtful, engaged, and interesting individuals—people who deserve spaces designed specifically for their interests and intellectual needs.

What started with monthly philosophy discussions in a small community centre has grown into a vibrant calendar of diverse events attracting hundreds of participants. From Debate Club Evenings to Retro Games Nights, from Creative Thinking Workshops to Life Stories gatherings, we've built a community where experience is valued and intellectual engagement is celebrated.

With 25 years in adult education and cultural programming, Eleanor envisioned Heathdale.site as a space where intellectual curiosity thrives. She holds a PhD in Philosophy and has facilitated countless discussion groups across the UK.

Patricia Ashworth

Events Coordinator

Patricia's background in theatre and community arts brings creative flair to every Heathdale.site event. She specializes in designing engaging workshops and ensuring every participant feels welcomed and valued.

Program Developer
